This breed is adorned with a luxurious, dense outer coat and a thick, wooly undercoat. It is considered to be a non-shedding breed. Like all coated breeds, the Shih Tzu will require a fair amount of grooming. Routine grooming of the dog need not be a chore. This is a good time to form a lasting bond with your puppy.

Many owners opt to clip the coat into a popular "puppy cut", where the tail is left in tact and the body coat is kept short. This is an attractive alternative to the fully maintained coat. Either way the Shih Tzu is a royal and impressive picture.

Atlantic Bailey Cream CD shows off his stuff in the show ring. He now has his Companion Dog title with great marks - he took 3rd out of 16 dogs for his first 2 legs!! Bailey has since retired from flyball also.
